From the Desk of Chris Lamm,

Happy October. I hope as we start the transition into fall that this finds you and your family well. This month I wanted to give an update since the Carr fire on how it has affected the market and how we anticipate it to do so in the future.

       Update since the Carr fire:

  • Since the fire there are still a lot of rentals and homes available and we are seeing a lot of people starting to rebuild their homes that lost them.
  • The housing market is starting to cool off over all. This is not something to be alarmed about but is actually good because it is helping to balance out the over-inflated market.
  • Proposition 10 may go into affect which is a statewide rent control. This is not necessarily a good thing as it may demotivate investors in building multi-unit properties.
  • We are still continuing to see an upward trend in rates. They may continue to rise over the remainder of the year but are still lower than the 60 year average.
